Sébastien Agius Yacht Consultant

Sell your yacht at the right price, without losing a season.

A candid valuation, a complete file, exposure to brokers worldwide and personal follow-up through to closing.

A badly positioned yacht stays on the dock. Every month costs crew, berth and maintenance, and a boat that sits on the market too long loses its appeal. The first decision, the price, is the most important one.

I give you a valuation based on recent sales of comparable yachts and on the true condition of yours. I then prepare the boat and her file so that the buyer and the surveyor find answers, not questions.

You have one contact from mandate to signature, and a regular report on enquiries, viewings and market feedback.

What I take care of for the sale of your yacht

Valuation

Analysis of comparable sales, the yacht's condition and current demand. You receive a reasoned price and a strategy.

Preparing the yacht

Presentation, technical points to address before listing, documents up to date. A ready yacht negotiates better.

Sales file

Photos, video, detailed specifications, maintenance history, inventory. Everything a serious buyer will ask for.

Marketing

Circulation to brokers and on professional platforms, direct presentation to buyers currently searching.

Viewings and qualification

I qualify buyers, arrange viewings and trials, and carry out the KYC checks.

Negotiation and closing

Offers, MOA, survey follow-up, lifting of conditions, Bill of Sale, deletion from the registry and receipt of funds.

The steps of a sale

  1. Valuation

I review the yacht and her file, then give you a written valuation.

  2. Mandate

We agree the price, the term and the conditions of the listing.

  3. Preparation

The yacht is prepared and photographed, and her file completed.

  4. Marketing

Circulation, replies to enquiries, viewings. You are kept informed.

  5. Offer and MOA

I negotiate the offers. The MOA is signed and the deposit paid into escrow.

  6. Closing

Trial, survey, conditions lifted. Title transfers against payment.

Frequently asked questions about selling a yacht

What is my yacht worth?

Value is read from the actual closed sales of comparable yachts, adjusted for the condition, equipment and history of yours. I give you a written valuation after studying the file and, ideally, a visit on board.

How long does it take to sell?

It depends first on price, then on the type of yacht and the season. A correctly positioned, well presented yacht sells markedly faster. I give you a realistic range at the valuation stage.

Central agency or open listing?

With a central agency, one broker coordinates the sale, keeps the file up to date and circulates the yacht to all other brokers, who can introduce their buyers on a co-brokerage basis. Information stays consistent and the price under control. An open listing leaves more freedom, with less control over how the yacht is presented.

Which documents should I prepare?

The certificate of registry, the title document (Bill of Sale or builder's certificate), proof of VAT status, class certificates if any, the maintenance history and the inventory. I check the file with you before listing.

Can I use or charter my yacht while she is for sale?

Yes. Viewings simply need to be planned around your calendar, and buyers informed of charters already booked, which can be taken over as part of the sale.
