Which country buys the most yachts?

One clarification first: the country where the most transactions are recorded is not necessarily the nationality of the buyers.

Worldwide, the United States leads: 130 superyacht transactions in 2025, against 103 in 2024. France comes second, with 51 sales. It is the leading European market, and that is no coincidence.

Geography

The French Riviera is the world epicentre of yachting: Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Saint-Tropez. No other region in the world gathers so many high-end marinas, shipyards, brokers and owners along a few hundred kilometres of coast.

Taxation

France allows a vessel to be operated commercially with structured tax and regulatory advantages.

Yachting has been part of Mediterranean identity for more than a century. Here, a yacht is not a luxury object. It is a way of life.

The area to watch: the Red Sea

Saudi Arabia is investing heavily to make it a new superyachting hub: NEOM, Sindalah, marinas and resorts of the highest level. It is a strategic area, whose future also depends on factors that are sometimes unpredictable, such as conflicts.
